Based in Cheshire, STEK Products is owned and operated by former Danish International speedway rider Jan Stæchmann.
A succesful 20 year career as a professional rider, reaching World Championship and SGP level, whilst domestically he represented clubs such as Wolverhampton, Long Eaton, Hull, Oxford and Stoke, Jan went to the other side of the fence after a career ending injury early in 2005 and became National Coach for Denmark, winning 3 FIM World Championships as manager for his country.
This was followed by a career in live broadcast commentary with firstly SGP commercial rights holders BSI / IMG on their World Feed, followed by a stint as reporter for Eurosport’s World Feed in the inaugural SEC Series. Then on to Danish TV3 Sports SGP coverage as presenter, commentator, and reporter until the commercial rights were sold to WBDS and coverage went to a rival channel. Jan is currently freelancing for the popular BSN Network in the UK.
Whilst fulfilling broadcast duties Jan joined the World Governing Body for motorsport, FIM, where he was an integral part of the Track Racing Bureau for 11 years before resigning in 2024.
In 2022 Jan acquired RMR Covers and started making accessories and bike covers for primarily the classic Upright Speedway and Grasstrack market when an opportunity came along in December 2023 to take over JC Pro Racewear and Graphics and branch out into making race suits and bike covers for the modern laydown speedway and grasstrack bikes.
Jan is a trustee of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund, which is a charity that assists injured speedway riders.
